Brave New World No. 3 "The Incubator"

37x15 inches (h x w x d)
2005
mixed media sculpture

"The Incubator is about 'longing' to be touched, to grow up and to be a part of each others world. One human head is trapped in a glass case and cannot escape. The observer may want to interact and touch the sculpture, but the closest he can get to it is by touching it via the gloves. The work deals with being observed and being the observer. It addresses the problematic that one can never be a part of another world and completely be a part of it." --artist's description from image list
