Vessel Series: Hair (white) in wax paper vessel

2000
mixed-media sculpture

"As the materials of bark, leaves, wax paper, metal are 'skins', I use these materials to create vessels (or a new body) to hold my body fibers (hair, fingernails, skin). Environmental factors (such as air, rain, smoke, dust food, spices, ink, etc.) that are absorbed into my body fibers are put in contact with the skins in nature into new vessels or bodies."
